Outlook 2011 for Mac keeps asking me for password I had been using Windows Live Mail (pop 3) for years until last week rarely, if ever had any problems downloading my mail. If Outlook can't set up an account automatically, you can configure it manually. Outlook for Mac can automatically set up accounts from many popular email service providers such as (previously known as Hotmail), AOL, Gmail, MobileMe, and Yahoo. I've deleted my password on the Keychain Access, did the Keychain Aid and then deleted my account also on Outlook. I have an Outlook for Mac 2011 and set up with an AOL Account. Once you verify that the new identity works fine, you can trash the old one (the one that says "Backed Up").Outlook for Mac 2011 keeps prompting me for password for AOL IMAP Account. Your "active" identity will be called "Main Identity", and when you use the Microsoft Tool, the "old"one will be called "Main Identity (Backed up Date Time)". You'll find both databases via the path /Users/yourusername/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2011 Identities. If not, then you should do some more research on the software that you are looking at.īy the way, when I use Microsoft's tool, the "old" database is actually backed up.
Quit that software, and launch Outlook like normal. The tool will then proceed to rebuild that database. Click on that (if it's not already highlighted/selected), then click Rebuild. You'll then get the Microsoft Database Utility Screen, asking you to select an Identity (for myself, there is only one called "Main Identity"). Second, when you launch Outlook 2011, hold down the Option key. So, first make sure that you have a backup of your entire system. I have no experience with the software you mentioned, but I have Outlook 2011 on both of my Macs, and I rebuild the database once a week.
