To this end, I typically have outlook set to automatically decline and delete every single read receipt request I receive. Not based on when you think I should have replied based on when you received a read receipt. Like if I want to reply to you about an email you sent me I'll do so on my time when I am ready to do so.
Most people and businesses I've worked in consider them rather pushy and a tad passive aggressive. I would ask though why you're bothing with read receipts? You can totally read an email without changing the read status. Only that its "Read" status was not changed. This doesnt mean that the recipient didnt read the email. What you have described is perfectly normal, and what you had actually requested by turning receipts on. As others have stated you've not really clearly asked any specific question.
